Optical Director of Teammate Success

The Optical Director of Teammate Success will act as a thought partner in developing organizational effectiveness strategies aligned with OPMT's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives. The position shapes and leads the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding, and is critical to cultivating a positive workplace culture where employees feel supported and satisfaction, retention, and growth improve. As a member of the administrative team, you will work with department leaders to track performance, strengthen engagement, and help team members thrive.

Employee engagement and success: develop and implement strategies to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and performance in support of both team and patient outcomes; oversee the full employee lifecycle for non-exempt positions, from recruitment and onboarding through offboarding; monitor employee performance and workplace health metrics, addressing challenges through coaching, performance improvement plans, and structured documentation; and conduct regular performance reviews that promote professional growth and accountability.

Training and development: design, implement, and maintain a consistent training process for optical employee operations, rolled out to every location; own training programs for optical staff and cross-trained employees to keep quality consistent across practice locations; and partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and create development opportunities, such as cross-training employees into the optical side of the practice.

Operational leadership: manage optician scheduling across multiple locations to ensure coverage and efficiency; provide optician coverage as needed and oversee contingency plans for staffing gaps; and collaborate with administrative and leadership teams to assess team performance, identify trends, and align employee success initiatives with organizational goals.
