Every membership helps maintain the State Board of Dispensing Opticians, funds a lobbyist who monitors the legislature year-round, and keeps quality continuing education available across Tennessee.

When rules change, TDOA responds, as it did when the Optometry Board revised its Rx rule following TDOA intervention. That work only continues because opticians join and renew.

Membership questions

All frequently asked questions

You may attend any and all TDOA events of the year with your membership.

TDOA membership includes record keeping of the continuing education hours that you have signed in for and received from our classes presented by TDOA.

An associate member is someone who is not licensed yet but needs the proof of hours for the ABO/NCLE. You may be an apprentice with the state and still have your ABO certification.
